About this deal

Despite not knowing each other, the four kids - Angelo, Gustav, Naira and Hallie - work together and as well as scary moments they are so many side-splitting moments which had me giggling for ages afterwards. Overall, this is a fast-paced book that I loved so much and can't wait for the next book in this series.

As we get to know these characters we are reminded there is always a reason behind brash behaviour, or those who prefer to be invisible. I love that from the start I was getting creepy vibes and I wanted to know more of what was happening.

And unfortunately for classmates (but not mate-mates lol) Hallie, Angelo, Gustav and Naira, they’re heading into school for a Saturday detention, unaware that they’re walking headfirst into danger. From the get-go I was instantly pulled into the sinister surroundings of Dread Wood High, and its creepy inhabitants.

The whole plot is twisted and the fact that giant spiders wont attack by singing a nursery rhyme is weird but in a good way . One thing is for certain though…I will never be able to hear Incy Wincy Spider in the same way again. This book is about 4 children who went to Dreadwood High School, they are given a detention and have to attend school on the weekend.Overall there isn’t anything to complain about other than the fact that the school wasn’t explained that well, so I had trouble imagining it at some points. Dread Wood follows Angelo and classmates Hallie, Gustav, and Naria as they head to detention on a Saturday.

Naira, is the hard-working princess of the group who is under pressure from her mother to do well and excel in life. Anyone who loves creepy, scary, riveting reads, will love to learn what dwells beneath Dread Wood School.I enjoyed the way the characters are described in the second chapter and how well their personalities are explained. I ended the book really loving all four of them, and I can’t wait to read more of the series to see more of their character arcs. Yes, I saw the end coming (I'm in the mid-30s, I am not the target audience), but I would have hoovered this up if I was younger and was more into creepy/spooky reads.
