About this deal

I sprayed a couple of spritzes on my coat near the hood, and every time I pass by the hanger, I sweetly freeze with delight. This isn’t a shy one, with plenty of character and attitude, the kind of scent I imagine a woman like Miranda Priestly would wear to meetings.

Which is something I really appreciate about this fragrance, it doesn't need to be loud to capture someone's attention. It’s warm and inviting but not in a cuddly way, in a way that says you can come in, but you cannot stay the night. The result is a stunning print with unrivalled quality and image reproduction that will stand the test of time. Some days you get more geranium, citruses and resins with woods, others is only roses and jasmines with tons of patchouli. After that the floral heart pushes through and it starts to become pleasant, then lovely, then gorgeous as the OG base notes come in. After three years since our meeting, I have never regretted it and I know that it will open up to me in a new way. A generous floral heart follows, boasting the sensuality of May rose and the unique note of geranium leaves, complemented by the magnetic allure of jasmine and daffodil. I almost never hear or see any talk about the olibanum/frankincense in this, but for me it's the best part!

The frames have a perfect fit for all our posters and are also easy to open on the backside with smooth metal buckles. The base is centered around balsamic frankincense, soft musk, vanilla, and sandalwood accords, and it is underlined by warm and earthy Indonesian patchouli. I get a slight powderiness, too, along with a creaminess, and this quality is probably what keeps the strong patchouli note from seeming too noxious to me. Not very noir, and a bit generic, but I really like it, it's probably my favorite Chanel offering with Coco as a close second. I was gifted this from my mother who thought it smelled like “old women”, but I liked it enough and tried it out. She's a little sharper, and the patchouli is more pronounced (I really do love patch, so take my opinions with a large grain of salt). The reason for Coco Mademoiselle's bestseller status over the years is because it's elegant, tasteful, and very "millennial".

It's fresh and kind of fizzy almost upon first application, but then it becomes soft and the vanilla really comes out. I love Chanel scents because they're fairly hard to pin down, and their longevity and sillage are second-to-none.I really enjoy the warmth, the almost unisex quality this has (which comes and goes -sometimes I feel this is very sweet, sometimes, very unisex), the ambery notes and the beautiful tonka that don’t feel cloying. This evening, I sprayed Commodity Gold (expressive) on the same arm and I have to say, I really enjoy this combo.

I’ve been trying it at the Chanel counter off and on for years, hoping that this time it will be different (spoiler: it never has been). While we strive to provide accurate and helpful information, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy or reliability of the AI-generated pros and cons. This is elegant, aloof, something I imagine Angelina Jolie actually wearing (Mon Guerlain excluded), regal in a Queen Victoria mourning way. The poster is printed with top quality ink on FSC certified 200g/m2 premium uncoated designer paper with matte finish. At any rate, I think Coco Noir is appropriate for all seasons, all times of the day, as long as you don't overspray.

Coco Noir is what I reach for when I want to feel poised and professional, when I want to be taken seriously or give off 'bossy vibes'.
